Wisdom Of Writers: The Connection

I’m not a big fan of Lady Gaga, but I must admit that this quote contains one of the best descriptions of the connection between a creation and its creator I’ve ever encountered.

The relationship should be brutally honest because that’s when the best artwork is created and the best satisfaction the creator can obtain.

“When you make music or write or create, it’s really your job to have mind-blowing, irresponsible, condomless sex with whatever idea it is you’re writing about at the time.”

  1. This quote rings true in other ways. As a kid, I used to receive all these beautiful journals as gifts (I was known to think up stories and tell them to my siblings, so it was thought that I would enjoy writing said stories down) and yet, I was afraid to write anything in them for fear of making mistakes and ruining the perfect virginity of the beautiful blank paper. Of course, I then forgot all the stories. Now I want to tell my younger self “Paper has no virginity! Write the damn thing down!”
